HanXun Reader Terms of Use

HanXun Reader is developed by the individual developer Sun Xun (孙逊) ("we"). Contact email: HanXunReader@QinJianHanxun.com. Tapping "Agree" means you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.

This English version is a translation for convenience. If it differs from the Chinese version, the Chinese version prevails.

1. What HanXun Reader is

A tool for reading and listening to books: it opens EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, TXT and Markdown files that you import yourself, turns pages, takes notes, reads aloud, and syncs progress and notes between your devices. HanXun Reader does not provide or sell any books. Please import only books you have the right to read. Books protected by DRM won't open, and we won't try to break it.

2. Your content

The books you import and the notes you write are yours. They are stored on your devices and in the cloud space or WebDAV storage you choose, and we never receive them.

3. Online features

Reading aloud, translation and sync rely on third-party services (Microsoft, Google, Baidu, DeepL, HUAWEI Cloud, the WebDAV storage you enter). They may charge, limit, change or discontinue their services, in which case the related features may stop working for a while; we will adapt as soon as we can. You are responsible for the keys and accounts you enter, and any fees follow your agreement with that service.

4. Software license

The copyright in HanXun Reader for HarmonyOS belongs to the developer. You may install and use it on your own devices, but you may not sell or rent it, or redistribute it with or without changes. The open source projects used in the app are released under their own licenses, listed under Settings → About → Guide & licenses → Open source licenses; these terms do not limit the rights those licenses give you.

5. Disclaimer

HanXun Reader is provided as is. We do our best, but we don't guarantee it is free of errors or data loss; keep sync on so important notes have a second copy. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses.

6. Other

If these terms change, you will see a notice the next time you open the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. For questions or complaints, write to HanXunReader@QinJianHanxun.com. We reply within fifteen working days.
